هذا كتاب جمع فيه "أمين نخلة" قصائد والده "رشيد نخلة" في الشعر العامي، وقد اختار بعضها من لجج أوراقه، التي سلمت من الضياع، واختار بعضها الآخر من قصاصات الجرائد التي كانت تتناقل أقواله وهو على قيد الحياة ومن رواية الرواة الذين عاصروه، وسمعوا منه، وقد احتاط في ضبط المخطوط أشد الاحتياط، وحرص على التثبيت من المنقول، والتمحيص من المروي أشد الحرص، نازعاً في ذلك إلى التقريب من ألأصل الذي استقام على ذوق والده في المعنى، وفي المبنى. ثم رتب الديوان على سبعة أو باب: أولها: "المرأة والجمال". وهو في وصفها وتشبيهها من خلال الشعور بها. الباب الثاني: "الحب والطبيعة". وفيه القصائد ذات التوصيل بينهما. الباب الثالث: "الغزل وما يتصل به". وقد جمع هذا الباب قصائد نظمها رشيد نخلة وهو في متقبل الصبا، وقصائد نظمها وهو السن العالية. الباب الرابع: "قصص الحب"، وفيه القصار من الحكايات والوقائع. الباب الخامس: "التجارب والعظات" وفيه أيضاً قصائد تدور على الحياة والغيب، وتطرق أشهى مقامات القول في هذا الموضوع السني. الباب السادس: "اللبنانيات"، وفيه قصائد في حب لبنان، ووصفه، وذكر أيامه، بين متقادمة وقائمة. الباب السابع: "الخصوصيات" وهو في أحاديث رشيد نخلة عن أهل بيته، في مختلف أيامهم بأحوال العيش.
