هذا الكتاب : يحلل مسالة تأثير العين على الإنسان من الناحية الشرعية والتاريخية والعلمية , والادله على تأثير العين , ويحتوي على كثير من القصص التي تؤيد وجود هذا التأثير مع عادات الشعوب للوقاية من تأثيرها . نبذة النيل والفرات: العين مصداق من مصاديق الحسد، فالحاسد عندما يستهدف المحسود ويتمنى زوال نعمته وانتقاله له، فإنه يجند كل قواه العقلية والبدنية ويجند أحاسيسه من سمعه ولسانه وبصره، لذا فإنه يراقب ضحيته أينما ذهب فيستخدم عينه لينظر بنظرات شيطانية لئيمة، يهدف منها إصابته بالعين ليصرعه شفاءً لغيضه. لهذا قيل: "إ، الرجل منهم كان إذا أراد أن يصيب صاحبه بالعين، تجوع ثلاثة أيام ثم كان يصفه فيصرعه بذلك، وذلك بأن يقول للذي يريد أن يصيبه بالعين: لا أرى اليوم إبلاً أو شاة، أو ما أرى كإبل أراها اليوم، فقالوا للنبي صلى الله عليه وسلم كما كانوا يقولون لما يريدون أن يصيبوه بالعين. وروى عن الرسول الأكرم صلى الله عليه وسلم: إن العين لتدخل الرجل القبر، وتدخل الجمل القدر". وفي هذا الخبر بيان ما للعين من أثر وخطر كبير بحيث أنها تنهي حياة الإنسان وتدخله القبر، وهذه الأحاديث وغيرها تؤكد بصورة لا تقبل الشك والجدل الخطورة التي تحملها بعض العيون والتي تكون ناتج طبيعي للنفس الحاقدة والحاسدة التي تكره الخير والنعمة للآخرين. في هذا الإطار يأتي الكتاب الذي بين يدينا والذي يتحدث عن أسرار العين وتأثيرها على الإنسان من الناحية الشرعية والتاريخية والعلمية، ويورد الأدلة على تأثير العين، كما ويسرد العديد من القصص التي تؤيد وجود هذا التأثير مع عادات الشعوب للوقاية من تأثيرها.
