هذه الأسئلة، وغيرها كثير هي ما يحاول هذا الكتاب أن يجيب عنها (بمنظور إسلامي) والدافع إلى ذلك أن كثيرين من الفلاسفة والكتّاب الذين عالجوا هذه الأسئلة وما تثيرها من إشكالات في وعي الإنسان وذاته لم يلتفتوا إلى ما يقوله الإسلام في هذا الميدان، إمّا لجهلهم، وإمّا لعدم معرفتهم، وإمّا لأنهم تقصدوا الانصراف عن الإسلام لأسباب عقيدية. وهذا الكتاب يعيد الاعتبار إلى المقولات الإسلامية في هذه الموضوعات، فيدرس طباع الإنسان وتأثيرها في علاقاته الاجتماعية، ويدرس أيضاً الأحلام والأبراج الفلكية والمصير الفردي، وكذلك الحب وأنواعه وأسراره وتجاربه، والأخلاق ودور النفس وتأثيرهما المتبادل، وسبل الوصول إلى الكمال النفسي والسعادة الأبدية، وطرائق التنوير والنقاء النفسي، وأسرار الإنسان وقواه الخارقة، وسر الحياة في الأرض، لهذا يمكن القول إن هذا الكتاب سجل شامل يحتوي خلاصة الفكر الإنساني في هذا الحقل من المعرفة، بجوانبه الدينية والفلسفية والتأملية والأدبية والعلمية معاً.
من حكمة الكتاب نقرأ:- "معرفة ذاتك هو الصراط المستقيم" – ابن عربي.-"في داخل كل منا شخص آخر لا نعرفه" – يونغ.- (فإِذَا سَوَّيْتُهُ وَنَفَخْتُ فِيهِ مِنْ رُوحِي فَقَعُوا لَهُ سَاجِدِينَ) – القرآن الكريم (سورة الحجر، الآية 29).-"أنت في كل مكان لأنك من روح الله، وفي كل زمان لأنك أقوى من الدهر" جبران خليل جبران.- "السعادة هي أكمل الخيارات التي إذا وصلنا إليها لن نحتاج إلى شيء آخر معها" ابن مسكويه.-"العمر عدد والحياة قيمة" – محمد حسنين هيكل.
