امتلاك القدرة على التكلم في كل شيء يعني انك صادق لكن أن تعرف متى ولماذا تتكلم يعني انك ناضج. عندما يقرر الإنسان الناضج ان يتحرر من عمل ما لأنه خطأ، لا يستطيع أن يجد الفعل الصحيح في المبالغة أو بالتحرر الكلي والعشوائي، لذلك فإن التحرر من الأسرار لا يعني كثرة الكلام والثرثرة .
المجتمع غالباً ما يضع معايير صارمة على السلوك المقبول، حتى لو لم تكن هذه المعايير عادلة وكلما ازداد بعد هذه الاعراف والمعايير عن العدالة كلما ازداد عدد الاشخاص الذين يلجؤون الى الاسرار، لا يوجد صك براءة للمجتماعات الصارمة التي تكثر فيها الحياة السرية ويقل فيها التفهم والتفاهم، بل هي مدانة. رغم ما سبق، يبقى الإنسان مسؤول عن خياراته وعن معرفة أن الأسرار كالاخطاء، لا يوجد أسرار إيجابية أو جيدة، إنما يوجد تجارب نستطيع أن نتعلم منها ونحاول أن لا نكررها في المستقبل. إن كان كشف الأسرار خطأ، فإن كتمان الخطأ سر وكلمة سر سلبية بقدر خطأ أو أشد.
