نعيم صبرى روائى وشـاعر مصرى مقيم بالقاهرة . بدأ مسـيرته الأدبية بكتابة الشـعر وأصدر فى البداية ديوانى شـعر ، يوميات طابع بريد وتأملات فى الأحوال . اتجه بعد ذلك اٍلى المسـرح وكتب مسـرحية بئر التوتة ، وهى مسـرحية شـعرية موسـيقـية . كتب بعد ذلك مسـرحيته الشـعرية الزعيم ثم عاد فأصدر ديوان شـعر حديث الكائنات . بدأ نعيم صبرى كتاباته النثرية بكتاب عن سـيرة طفولته بعنوان يوميات طفل قديم ثم واصل كتاباته النثرية فأصدر تسـع روايات حتى الآن ، أحدثها رواية "وتظل تحلم اٍيزيس" ، التى صدرت فى 2009 عن دار نشـر مدبولى . درس نعيم صبري الهندسة الميكانيكية وتخرج من كلية الهندسة بجامعة القاهرة عام 1968. عمل في المجال الهندسي وفي الأعمال الحرة حتى تفرغ للأدب منذ سنة 1995. متزوج من السيدة نجوى يوسف وأب لابنة واحدة، .سارة صبري.

شُبرا.. حيٌ قاهريٌ عريق.. يقع بجوار محطة السكة الحديد، محطة مصر، كأنه يستقبل القادم إليها ويُودَّع الراحلين. حي العشرة الطيبة والجيرة الحلوة. سأحكي لكم حكاية ناسها الذين عاشوا فيها فى منتصف القرن العشرين؛ أي الخمسينيات والستينيات. شُبْرا فتحت أحضانها لكل الناس: الغني والفقير، المصري والأجنبي، المُسلم والمسيحي واليهودي. عاشت فيها عائلات من اليونانيين والإيطاليين والأرمن والشوام بين المصريين من أهل البلد، لم يشعروا بغُربة وصهرتهُم بوتقتُها مع ناسها من المصريين فأصبحوا هم أيضا ناسها. يتشاركون فى اللقمة الهنيّة، الأفراح والأحزان. يتحابون ويتزوجون وينجبون الذرية، ويفرحون ويغضبون، وتصفو نفوسهم سريعًا، ثم يرحلون فى الأجل المحتوم. هي بإختصار حي التعايش والمحبة والصفاء. هكذا كانت حياتهم في تلك الحقبة، ثم حدث ما حدث بعدها وتغيرت الأحوال. تعالوا كي نعرف الحكاية العذبة لحيِّ شُبرا في منتصف القرن العشرين.
