نعيم صبرى روائى وشـاعر مصرى مقيم بالقاهرة . بدأ مسـيرته الأدبية بكتابة الشـعر وأصدر فى البداية ديوانى شـعر ، يوميات طابع بريد وتأملات فى الأحوال . اتجه بعد ذلك اٍلى المسـرح وكتب مسـرحية بئر التوتة ، وهى مسـرحية شـعرية موسـيقـية . كتب بعد ذلك مسـرحيته الشـعرية الزعيم ثم عاد فأصدر ديوان شـعر حديث الكائنات . بدأ نعيم صبرى كتاباته النثرية بكتاب عن سـيرة طفولته بعنوان يوميات طفل قديم ثم واصل كتاباته النثرية فأصدر تسـع روايات حتى الآن ، أحدثها رواية "وتظل تحلم اٍيزيس" ، التى صدرت فى 2009 عن دار نشـر مدبولى . درس نعيم صبري الهندسة الميكانيكية وتخرج من كلية الهندسة بجامعة القاهرة عام 1968. عمل في المجال الهندسي وفي الأعمال الحرة حتى تفرغ للأدب منذ سنة 1995. متزوج من السيدة نجوى يوسف وأب لابنة واحدة، .سارة صبري.

تعرض الرواية لشخصية حافظ بتاع الروبابيكيا وحياته مع زوجته صفية وحماره صابر، الذي يدعى انه يتكلم معه ليلاً، إلى جانب المعزة سعدية التي يحلبان لبنها لطفليهما يوسف وخيرية، وكذلك القطة السوداء ضلمة، والكلب الأبيض زبادى.
يعيشون جميعاً بعشة بسيطة على أطراف مصر الجديدة. يعشق حافظ مهنته ويحب الأشياء القديمة. يحتفظ لنفسه بما يعجبه منها ويرفض التفريط فيها. تتعقد حياته بعد علاقته مع دلال بائعة الياناصيب وحملها منه واضطراره للزواج منها. تترك صفية العشة وتصطحب الطفلين معها إلى بيت أبيها بقرية شبرامنت.
تعرض الرواية من خلال رحلة حافظ اليومية لمظاهر الحياة والمجتمع المصري المعاصر.
