نحن هنا أمام تجربة قصصية لا تغري العين واليد فحسب، بل تغري العقل حتى لو عبثت به، ويطيب الانسياق معها حتى الصدمة الأخيرة-الموجعة والكاشفة معاً. فمن خلال ما في كل قصة من تفاصيل توحي بما يعرفه المرء في عيشه اليومي، تتبدى شفقة عميقة لا تعلن عن نفسها. والتركيز الشديد التي تتوخاه القاصة في تقنيتها، يسعفها في إبراز رؤيتها التي تحتضن كل شيء ولا تنخدع بشيء-ولعل في ذلك بعض التفسير للغرائبية التي يتصف بها فن بسمة النسور. إنه فن يعتمد النقائض ليبقينا في يقظة محددة، مدعي دائم، إزاء ما نمر به في كل ساعة. والطريف أن العنوان في كل قصة هنا، باستثناء قلة منها، كلمة واحدة، وكثيراً ما تأتي نهاية القصة لنستشف إيماءاتها الأولى. فالكلمة الواحدة هنا هي خلاصة شعرية صريحة الدلالة، ولكنها في الوقت نفسه مؤشر لخطر كامن من أن الأشياء ليست في جوهرها ما تدعيه في ظاهرها.
