"لم أحسن أن أقلّم من عينيك غصناً لي، ولا من عروقك عصاً لقلبي، لا تكونين لي كجفني، ولا أعرف أن أخفيك في راحتي، ولا أكثر من أن يكون وجهان شقيقين، كعينين متجاورتين، ننظر لبعضنا كرفيق للغائب أن نتبادل هذا الشبه النادر بالشموع والأصابع ولا أكثر من أن يشيع فقرك وندامتك في هذا الجسد الذي فات أوان تسليمه".
