دراسة تتسم بالشمول المعرفي التأصيلي لجوانب النظرية الدلالية في الفكر اللساني العربي القديم متجسداً في عمل أحد أعلامه الكبار: تفسير فخر الدين الرازي. ونظراً لأن هذا التفسير كان مجالاً مارس فيه الرازي مكتسبات تعدد مصادره المعرفية: الفلسفية والأصولية والكلامية واللغوية والبلاغية، فإن ذلك أتاح للمؤلف أن يقدم صورة متكاملة لبنية النظرية الدلالية العربية منطلقاً من الأطر الدلالية الثلاثة – الاشتقاقي والعقلي والاجتماعي – التي أسست مفهوم اللغة في هذا الفكر. ومن ثم كان اهتمام المؤلف بالتاريخ التحليلي للمسائل الدلالية التي تصدى لدراستها سواء عند سابقي الرازي أم عند لاحقيه. بل امتد هذا الاهتمام إلى جوانب من المقاربات الدلالية الحديثة لهذه المسائل.
