إن الوضع المتميز للعمل القصصي لم يقابله اهتمام مماثل في مجال الدراسة والنقد، خاصة من حيث تناول مقوماته الجمالية والتطرق إلى خصوصياته الفنية. فكادت معظم المقاربات لنتاجه المتفرقة أن تقتصر على التعرض لمضمونه أو أفكاره ومعانيه، وقلما خرجت في حال تجاوز ذلك عمّا استقر عليه منذ مطلع هذا القرن من تصور أولي وافتراضي حول بنائه أو شكله، من قيامه على حبكة تنتظم في مقدمة وعقدة وحل. وإذا عرفنا أن بعض البلاغيين العرب القدماء قد تنبهوا إلى هذا الدور الحيوي والخطير للقصص أو الإخبار في الأعمال الأدبية، بل في الكلام عموماً، فإن غياب الاهتمام في أبحاثهم بهذا القصص أو الإخبار يعد نقصاً يدل على خلل منهجي ومنطقي، بل ويعتبر من أبرز المفارقات التي عرفتها مساهماتهم العظيمة الأهمية. إن البحث عن أسس لسانية للشعرية القصصية العربية، على نسق ما تم التوصل إليه من نحو قصصي على المستوى الدلالي، يفترض الانطلاق من معطيات تركيب العبارة العربية في تفردها اللساني خاصة على المستوى النحوي.
إلا أن دراستنا النصية لم تتوقف عند هذين المظهرين، الدلالي والشعري، أو عند الجانب الداخلي للقصص، بل تعدته إلى ذلك الجانب الخارجي المتمثل في الأبعاد الاجتماعية -التاريخية والنفسانية- الذاتية التي يتيح الانطلاق من المعطيات النصية المطروحة التطرق إليها. وقد حاولنا تعيين اللاوعي الاجتماعي في الوجه الأول، واللاوعي النفسي في الوجه الثاني...
ربما كان في الانتصار لهذه المنهجية بالذات بقدر ما تبديه من فعالية في استكناه دلالية وجمالية النصوص القصصية بأبعادها المتميزة، وما تستثيره من دوافع لتعميق البحث في سيميائية أو دلالية القصص وشعرية السرد، ما يبرر اعتمادها بقدر ما يتضمن الحث على متابعتها وتجاوزها.
