ولدت الشاعرة امل الجبوري في بغداد 1967 .
اكملت دراستها الجامعية عام 1988 قسم اللغة الانكليزية كلية الاداب في جامعة بغداد .
نشرت اولى قصائدها في الصحف والمجلات العراقية في فترة الثمانينات داخل العراق .
وبدأت بنشر ترجمات للشعر الانكليزي الى اللغة العربية بشكل دوري في صحيفة القادسية اليومية في بغداد .
عملت مراسلة صحفية لعدد من الصحف والمجلات خارج العراق : 1_ صحيفة القبس الكويتة في نهاية الثمانينات حتى 1990 2_ مجلة الحوار الصادرة في باريس في 1990 حتى توقف المجلة في منتصف التسعينات أمل الجبوري شاعرة ومؤسّسة رابطة القلم الدولية - فرع العراق عام ٢٠٠٧.
ناشرة ومؤسّسة "دار شرق –غرب" للنشر.
ترأس مجلس إدارة المؤسّسة الألمانية "ديوان الشرق - الغرب للثقافات" في برلين منذ عام 2001.
ترجمت عدداً من الكتب من الإنكليزية والألمانية إلى العربية.
تقيم في لندن حيث تكمل تخصّصها في مادّة القانون - دراسات عليا فيجامعة لندن، قسم الدراسات الشرق أوسطية والأفريقية – سواس.

"السرير الذي يسكن الأرض، ولادتنا الأولى. السرير الذي يسكن أجسادنا، سريرنا الذائل. السرير الذي في عقولنا، سريرٌ لغدٍ لا يجيء. السرير الذي في بيوتنا، سرير لأكاذيبنا. السرير الذي في السماء، سريرنا الأخير والوحيد".
تسعة وتسعون حجاباً تحاول الشاعرة رفعها، كاشفة عن لوحات كونية، مرسومة بحروف بعبارات تزخر بمعان فلسفية، والأكثر بمعاني الحياة. واضحة هي العبارات، وعميقة هي المعاني، ومنسابة هي الكلمات كماء سلسل عذب رائق يحلو العبّ منه.
