تَخيّرتُ جانبَ النهر الحاني مكانًا ألعب فيه أنا وأترابي، نحفر قناة صغيرة ننقل إليها المياه من النهر بأكفِّنا الصغيرة، ونغضب من الأرض التي تسبقنا فتبتلعها، ثم ننسى الغضب بكل عنفوان الطفولة ونفرح بالطين فنشكّل أحلامَنا فتياتٍ وفِتيانًا يتمازحون، أو نلعب بـ "الحذروف". أحيانًا أخرى تُشكّل كلا مِنا رضيعًا تقرّبُه إلى صدرها الصغير، ونتشابك في مجموعات صغيرة نلعب بعرائسنا الخشبية، أو التي نصنعها بأنفسِـنا من القماش العزيز والقَش. حقيقة، فكرة الثوب في هذا الوقت لم تكن قد اختمرت في نفسي، فجميع أترابي عرَايَا، أعضاؤهن تُهَلل للشمس، ولم يكن شيء ما بجسدي يُقلِقني كما أقلقني فيما بعد.
