في أسرة بسيطة مكونة من ثلاثة أبناء، (أحمد) سبع سنوات، و(سحر) اثنا عشر سنة، و(خالد) أكبرهم ثمانية عشر عامًا يعيشون في عائلة هادئة ومستقرة.. (أحمد) و(سحر) يتمتعان بقدرتهما على المرح وحضورهم الاجتماعي الملحوظ.. بعكس (خالد) الذي يفضل الهدوء وحب القراءة والتفوق الدراسي وأن يخلوا بنفسه في كثير من الأحيان وهذا ما أقلق والديه عليه.
..وعندما سألته والدته عن سبب عزلته وإنطوائه أجابها بأنه يفضل أن يذاكر ويستفيد من وقته الإستفادة القصوى..ولكنهما كان يريان أن هذا السبب واهيًا.
.. وعلى الجانب الآخر كان (خالد) في حجرته يتذكر أيام طفولته عندما كان وحيدًا يلقى من الرعاية والتدليل الزائد اللذين افتقدهما عندما ولدت أخته (سحر) والتي تمتعت بالرعاية الكاملة.. وجذبت اهتمام والديه مما ادى إلى إهماله.. مما جعله يفضل العزلة والانشغال بهواية تملئ عليه حياته ومشاعره.. وتعوضه عن تواصله الفعال مع الآخرين.
..ولكن مع مرور الوقت وبعد التحاقه بالدراسة الجامعية التي كان يحلم بها حاول تغيير نفسه وانضم إلى أسرة من أسر الكلية وتعرف على بعض الزملاء الذين أصبحوا فيما بعد أصدقائه واستطاعوا أن يخرجوه من حالة العزلة النفسية التي كان يحيط بها نفسه.. الأمر الذي جعله يهتم بأخوته ورعايتهم وتنمية حب القراءة والاستمتاع بالهدوء والمرح لديهم.
