هذا الكتاب الصادر عن دار النشر ''هرست'' وشركاه في لندن المملكة المتحدة تحت عنوان ''الحرب العالمية الأولى في منطقة الشرق الأوسط''. يتسم بالشمولية من حيث رصده لتأثيرات مجريات الحرب العالمية الأولى على هذه المنطقة الحساسة من العالم. وهو جديد في موضوعه لأنه نادرا ما تحظى منطقتنا باهتمام المتخصصين في الغرب خصوصا من النواحي الإستراتيجية والعسكرية وكذلك الإحاطة بالأوضاع التي كانت سائدة فيها خلال فترة تاريخية مفصلية. استطاع ''الكتاب'' أن يسجل نجاحه في تسليط الأضواء على جبهات القتال الملتهبة التي خيمت عليها الشراسة. وعلى المعارك التي إتصفت بالوحشية وبالمواجهات الضارية التي كانت مماثلة لما شهدته جبهات القتال في القارة الأوروبية. وكان قد جرى بالرغم من إفتقار الشرق الأوسط حينذاك إلى أبسط المرتكزات الأساسية لمتانة البنى التحتية المتمثلة بطرقات غير معبدة وخطوط لقطارات حديدية لعبت دورا سلبيا في توثيق حركة التواصل بين المناطق البرية وحدت من سرعة التنقل وفقا لخط ناري إمتد من غاليبولي ومر في غزة وانتهى في أسفل دجلة في العراق.
