يضم هذا الكتاب الجديد (2020) دراسات عديدة في ميدان الطب النفسي والصحة النفسية. وفيه موضوعات وترجمات ومقالات وتعليقات كنت قد كتبتها خلال نشاطاتي العلمية في السنوات الأخيرة.
وهناك موضوعات واختبارات ودراسات موسعة حديثة ترجمتها عن الإنكليزية. مثل تطورات حديثة حول الفصام، اضطراب ثنائي القطب والاضطرابات المتعلقة به في الدليل الأمريكي التشخيصي والإحصائي الخامس، اضطرابات الشخصية، وغيرها.
ويضم الكتاب إضاءات وآراء وتحليلات لي، وقد أحببت أن أجمعها وأضمها إلى هذا الكتاب. مثل مفهوم "شبكة الحب" في نسيان الصدمات العاطفية، "فقدان الدور" والتكيف والاكتئاب، هل كان المتنبي يعاني من اضطراب المزاج ثنائي القطب؟ أهمية الحكم والأقوال النفسية في الحياة وفي العلاج النفسي. وهي تشكل إسهامات علمية وإضافات متواضعة وجديدة، وتعكس خبراتي وثقافتي النظرية والأكاديمية والعملية، وتجربتي في الترجمة والتأليف في هذا الميدان.
وهذا الكتاب ليس مرجعاً شاملاً في الطب النفسي، ولكنه مرجع مفيد وواسع وضروري. وهو يضم ثمان وخمسين موضوعاً، ويتحدث عن قضايا أساسية وهامة في ميدان الطب النفسي.
وأعتقد أن هذا الكتاب يشكل إضافة مفيدة إلى المكتبة العربية. وهو يفيد شريحة واسعة من الاختصاصيين في الطب النفسي والعلوم النفسية، وطلبة الاختصاص، إضافة إلى شريحة واسعة من المثقفين والمهتمين في الطب النفسي والصحة النفسية في العالم العربي.
