كلمة الحرب النفسية مصطلح يعبر عن مفهوم قديم قدم الإنسانية ورغم ذلك فإن الإطار الفكري والتأمل النظري الذي تتحدد به كيفية التعامل مع هذا العلم تعاني الكثير من التناقضات. وللحرب النفسية قواعد يسعى المتخصصون من خلالها إلى إثبات وإبراز عناصر الضعف في الخصم ومن خلال التعامل الفكري النيل من التماسك الشخصية الفردية والجماعية التي يتعاملون معها.
وفي هذا الكتاب يسعى المؤلف إلى تأسيس نظرية كاملة ومتكاملة للتعامل النفسي منطلقاً من الحرب النفسية المعكوسة. ومن منطلق إدارة الصراع في منطقة الشرق الأوسط. ويشكل هذا كله جزءاً من هدف يسعى إليه المؤلف هو وضع نظرية متكاملة لظاهرة التعامل النفسي من منطلق خبرة الصراع العربي الإسرائيلي.
وفي الكتاب تعريف بالحرب النفسية وتقاليد الصراع المعنوي في الشرق الأوسط- وتطور الدعاية الصهيونية ومراحلها. كما لا يغفل المؤلف أهمية الدور الذي يضطلع به الأعلام العربي، لذلك يدرس السياسة الخارجية وتطوراتها المعاصرة، والتمييز بين الأعلام الداخلي والخارجي ليخلص أخيراً إلى دراسة الأعلام العربي ومشاكله.
ويعرض المؤلف كذلك لتقاليد التعامل النفسي في تاريخ الحركة الصهيونية وحقيقة الإمكانيات العربية وتطور موقف الدعاية الإسرائيلية عقب عام 1967؟ ويبرز أهمية التحرك الإعلامي ويشير إلى المبادئ العملية للمواجهة والهجوم الإعلاني بقصد تحطيم الثقة بالذات القومية الإسرائيلية.
