لكل منّا روايته، يخط عليها ما شاء وما يشاء ، منّا من يسلم روايته متكاملة وبديعة، ومنّا من يسلمها مليئة بالأخطاء، ومنّا من يسلمها فارغة لم يشأ له القدر أن يخط عليها أي كلمة.
لكن مع هذا سنحاسب بدورنا على هذه الرواية وعلى ما جاء فيها من خير ومن شر، نعلم أنَّ هناك نسخة أخرى من روايتنا كتبت قبل أن نستلمها،
كتبت بشكلٍ مفصل وواضح لا لبث فيها ولا لأحد القدرة أن يمحي منها أو يغيرها.
وبهذا وجب علي إخباركم بما جاء بروايتي إلى يومي هذا، رغبة في توضيح بعض الأمور، بل ربما رغبة في نسف عادات وأفكار وجذور غرست وما زالت تغرس بأذهاننا، لأرمي بها بعيداً، ولأجعلكم تتعذبون بها مثلما تعذبت أو تعيشون برضا كما لم أفعل يوماً ، وهذا ما يحزنني..
لم أعرف معنى الرضا يوماً من الأيام، عانيت واحترقت واشتعلت النيران
بداخلي، ويكأنّ حجرة غرست بقلبي منذ ولادتي لتحرقني كل يوم يمر دون أن أستطيع اطفاءها أو محوها من حياتي.
وها أنا اليوم أترّخ قصة عائلة عاصرت آلام الجميع وأحزانهم وأوجاعهم، عائلة من الطبقة السفلى.
وهكذا بدأت قصتي......
