(.. فبنا أنا واقف موقف الاندهاش والحيرة- أسوة كثير من أهل الدين - لما وقع في الحرمين الشريفين وما والاهما من المنكرات، بهدم المشاهد والمزارات, وذلك في أول شهر المحرم من هذا العام، حيث يقام التذكار الحسيني المحزن، وكفى به جالباً للوجد القلبي، ومثيرا للبكاء المقرح, إذ انتهى إليّ عدد من جريدة (الأوقات العراقية) التي تصدر في البصرة, وفي مفتتحها مقالة ينقل صاحبها عن رجل من فضلاء أهل العلم, قطن البصرة منذ شهور, يدعى (السيد مهدي) أنه منع من تمثيل تلك الفادحة الكبرى والمصيبة العظمى، ومن خروج مواكب الرجال يضربون صدورهم بأيديهم في الازقة والجوادّ العمومية، فقلت هذه المصبة الثالثة، وما هي بأهون من الاولتين.
ثم ما عتمت إلا وقد أرسلت بعد ايام من البصرة مقالة مطبوعة من مزخرفات ذلك الرجل الفاضل، مزج فيها بين الحق والباطل, ونسب الفرقة الجعفرية- في إقامة التذكارات الحسينية ببعض مظاهرها- إلى الإبداع، والقيام بافعال وحشية همجية.
وفي هذا تضليل للسلف الصالح من العلماء الاعلام، والقوّام على الحلال والحرام، ورفع لاعظم شعار مذهبي، وما زالت تجتني الشيعة من فوائدة ما يحفظ كيانهم، ويثبت عقائدهم).
