سال 2034 است. از حوادث وادنخا و مأموريت آرتيوم و همراهانش که به نابودي موجودات تاريکي و زيستگاهشان منجر شد، يک سال سپري شده است.
در آن سوي ديگر مترو، ساکنين ايستگاه سِواستوپولسکايا روزانه در حال دست و پنجه نرم کردن با تهديدات و مشکلات جور واجور هستند. سرنوشت ايستگاهشان به محمولهي مهماتي است که رو به اتمام است. مفقود شدن کاروانهاي عازم به ايستگاهشان و قطع شدن خطوط ارتبا سال 2034 است. از حوادث وادنخا و مأموريت آرتيوم و همراهانش که به نابودي موجودات تاريکي و زيستگاهشان منجر شد، يک سال سپري شده است.
در آن سوي ديگر مترو، ساکنين ايستگاه سِواستوپولسکايا روزانه در حال دست و پنجه نرم کردن با تهديدات و مشکلات جور واجور هستند. سرنوشت ايستگاهشان به محمولهي مهماتي است که رو به اتمام است. مفقود شدن کاروانهاي عازم به ايستگاهشان و قطع شدن خطوط ارتباطي با ايستگاههاي ديگر هرچه بيشتر از قبل آنها را به آستانهي نابودي نزديک کرده است.
براي حل اين مشکلات، گروهي کوچک به مأموريت اعزام ميشوند: احمد جوان، هومر پير که رؤياي اديب شدن و جاودانه کردن بخشي از تاريخ را که خود در آن زندگي ميکند در سر دارد، و در آخر شکارچي که زماني در ميان موجودات تاريکي گم شده بود، ولي اکنون با هويتي جديد و غيرمنتظره به جمع انسانهاي مترو بازگشته است. در طول سفرشان، ساشا، دختر مردي تبعيدشده که قبلاً فرماندهي يک ايستگاه را بر عهده داشته، به آنها ملحق ميشود.
با کشف آثار يک بيماري مرگبار که در صورت گسترش يافتن، امنيت کل ساکنين مترو را به خطر خواهد انداخت، مأموريت اين گروه کوچک وارد فاز جديد و حياتي ميشود و در صورتي که در انجام آن با شکست مواجه شوند، قربانيان ناکاميشان ديگر به ساکنين سواستوپولسکايا محدود نخواهد شد...
