أورهان باموق، كاتب وروائي تركي فاز بجائزة نوبل للآداب، سنة 2006 ولد في اسطنبول في 7 يونيو سنة 1952 وهو ينتمي لأسرة تركية مثقفة. درس العمارة والصحافة قبل أن يتجه إلى الأدب والكتابة كما يعد أحد أهم الكتّاب المعاصرين في تركيا وترجمت أعماله إلى 34 لغة حتى الآن ويقرأه الناس في أكثر من 100 دولة في فبراير 2003.
في عام 2008 نشر روايته الموسومة "متحف البراءة" والتي تناول فيها موضوعات العشق والزواج والصداقة والسعادة ببعديها الفردي والإجتماعي.
"كانت أسعد لحظة في حياتي من دون أن أعرف. لو عرفت، فهل كنت وسأتمكن من المحافظة على هذه السعادة. ويغدو كل شيء مختلفاً تماماً؟ لأدركت أنها أسعد لحظة في حياتي، لما فوّت تلك السعادة نهائياً. لعل تلك اللحظة الذهبية والعميقة الطمأنينة التي لفت كل طرف مني دامت بضع ثوانٍ، ولكن السعادة بدت لي ساعات وأعواماً. وكالتحرير من الذنب والجريمة والعقاب والندم، كانت لحظة تحرر من قوانين الزمن والجاذبية والأرضية قرابة الساعة الثالثة إلا ربعاً من يوم الإثنين 26 أيار / مايو 1975. قبّلت كتف فسون المتصبب عرقاً بتأثير الحر وممارسة الحب، واحتضنتها بهدوء من الخلف، وعضضت أذنها اليسرى بشكل خفيف. بدا لي القرط أنه توقف لحظة في الهواء، ثم سقط تلقائياً، كنا سعيدين في ذلك اليوم إلى درجة أننا لم ننتبه نهائياً إلى شكل ذلك القرط، وتابعنا تبادل القبل".
