هذا الكتاب أيضاً لا يعتمد على التحليل النقديّ لأعمال المخرج الإيرانيّ الشهير "عبّاس كيارستمي" - وهي مهمّة جوهريّة، أساسيّة، وضروريّة، لكننّي لا أحسن القيام بها - بل يركّز على ترجمة الحوارات التي أجريت مع هذا المخرج المستمدّة والمجمّعة من مصادر مختلفة ومتعدّدة، وهي موادّ خضعت لٌلإعداد والترتيب والتنظيم بحيث تقدّم نظرة بانوراميّة شاملة (أو هكذا تطمح وتحاول) لعالم المخرج الإيرانيّ الفذ من وجهة نظره الخاصّة.
وهي تشتمل على أنشطته الفنيّة، آرائه، رؤاه، أفكاره، تأثراته، أساليبه، خلفيّته الثقافيّة، تعدد طاقاته الإبداعيّة وتنوّع إهتماماته وأنشطته الفنيّة والأدبيّة، شعريّته الطاغية، المحيط المحلّيّ الّذي يتحرّك فيه ويسبره بعمق بعين نافذة، فضلاً عن الأبعاد الثقافيّة والإجتماعيّة والسياسيّة الّتي تشكل ركائز أساسيّة في تجربته الإبداعيّة.
إضافة إلى الحوارات، يحتوي الكتاب على إستعراض لأفلام المخرج، مع ترجمة لبعض المقالات الملفتة، الّتي كتبها نقّاد بارزون، أرى أنها تسلّط ضوءاً مهمّاً على جوانب مختلفة ومفيدة من التجربة السينمائيّة لكيارستمي الّذي يعدّ واحداً من أهم وأبرز المخرجين في السينما العالميّة المعاصرة، ويقرّ العديد من النقاد ينبوغ "كيارستمي" وعظمته كسينمائي متميّز إستطاع بفضل إبداعاته - مع إبداعات سينمائيين إيرانيّين لا يقلّون أهميّة - أن يضع الفيلم الإيرانيّ على خارطة السينما العالميّة، وأن يجعل من حضوره حدثاً ثقافيّاً مهمّاً.
"كيارستمي" - كما يقول الناقد "جوف أندرو" فنّان لا يحقّق أفلامه للإستهلاك بالمعنى السلبيّ المعتاد، بل يحرّض جمهوره على التفاعل والتفكير والمساءلة.
