وإذا كان أورويل ندَّد بالرقابة وبمنع الكتب والأفكار من التداول، فإن هكسلي خشيَ عالماً لا رغبة للناس فيه بالقراءة أصلاً.
وإذا تنبّأ أورويل بعالم يُحرم فيه الإنسان من الحق في المعرفة، فإن هكسلي استنظر عالماً يُتخم فيه الإنسان بكمٍّ هائلٍ من المعلومات تجعل منه كائناً سلبياً ولا مبالياً، وإذا كان أورويل ينظر إلى السلطة العنيفة على أنها عدو للإنسانية، فإن هكسلي يصوِّرها كنظام مخادع مبني على الإنحلال الأخلاقي والمتع الجامحة والسعادة الوهمية...
إذاً، أيُّ الروايتَين تحقّقت نبوءتها أكثر؟... أيُّ عالم يبدو لنا اليوم مألوفاً أكثر؟... نترك الحُكم للقارئ!...
