يعد كتاب " سنن إبن ماجه " لمؤلفه أبي عبد الله محمد بن يزيد بن ماجه القزويني ( 209 - 273ه ) أحد الأصول الستة في الترتيب ، أي أنه أحد كتب الحديث الستة التي هي عمدة أهل العلم والمعرفة . وهذا الكتاب " طبعة جديدة ، مصححة ، مرقمة ، مذيلة بأرقام مكرّرات وطرق الحديث ، ومخرجة الأحاديث مع الحكم عليها ، مع تمييز زيادات أبي الحسن القطان وشرح الغريب ، مع تعليقات مفيدة ، مصدرةٍ بمقدمةٍ علميةٍ ، ومذيلة بفهارس عامة خرج أحاديث الكتاب وعلق عليه : عماد الطيار وياسر حسن وعز الدين صلي . وقد راعوا فيه الصحيحين والموطأ حتى يصل إلى القراء في غاية الدقة والإتقان ، ولهذا الغرض تم تقديم دراسة موجزة عن هذا الكتاب ومؤلفه ومنهجه في كتابه ، وغرضه من تأليفه وشروطه فيه وأهم ما ألّف في شرحه ، واختصاره ، وعرض زوائد مؤلفه على الكتب الستة ، وما تفرد به ، ثم الأحاديث التي ذكرها إبن الجوزي في كتاب " الموضوعات " من " سنن ابن ماجد " . وبيان كتب أحاديث "سنن إبن ماجه " وهي عدد كتبه التي صرح بتسميتها كما قال الذهبي ( 32 ) كتاباً ، وعدد ابوابه ( 1491 ) باباً ، وعدد أحاديثه : ( 4068 ) حديثاً - دون أحاديث المقدمة ، وعددها ( 266 ) حديثاً ، ودون زيادات أبي الحسن المرقمة ، وهي سبعة أحاديث .
