"يظُنّونَ... أنّ السعادة تصنعُ شاعراً... ولا يعلمونَ... أنّ الشعر الحقيقي هو عزفٌ بديعٌ... في سمفونية... من الألم" بهذه العبارات تقدم الشاعرة حنان القطان منجزها الشعري "سمفونيان" نقرأ من خلاله مفردات التجربة الشعورية الخاصة بالمرأة، وهو ما يُمكن رصده في صميم الموضوعة الرئيسية في المجموعة، وقد جاءت على شكل جمل قصيرة أشبه بالوقيعات أو (اللقطات) المكثفة في بعض القصائد، "إذا استطعت أن تُنسيني... حبيب الماضي... فحتماً ستكون أنت... حبيب حياتي".
بينما قصائد أخرى نجدها لا تصدر إلا من امرأة عشقت الشعر حتى النهاية، فلبت ندائه على عجل بأسلوبٍ من السرد المكثف، وتآلف للألفاظ يُمكن قراءتها عبر مشاهدٍ تستعيد الذات الشاعرة من خلالها آفاق حلمية مكانية وزمنية تتداعى صورها بشكل كثيف من خلال الرؤيا الموضوعية والفكرية لدور الشعر وحضوره فيما يجري من أحداث عبر صيغ من الإحتجاج والرفض والحزن والألم العميق، تمظهرت عبر لغة إيحائية ساخرة وفاضحة ورسائل إلى أولئك إلى "منافقون... خائنون... طماعون... كاذبون... ظالمون... عجزتُ أن أغيركم... عجزتُ أن أهجركُم... عجزتُ أن أكون مثلكم... ضائعةٌ انا في زمنكُم... ضائعةٌ وأنا معكم... ضائعةٌ أنا بدونكم... تباً لإختلاف عنكُم... وتباً لتعفن أخلاقكم".
يضم الكتاب قصائد في الشعر العربي الحديث جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: "سمفونية تحرون الحب"، "سمفونية آلاف الأعذار"، "سمفونية آه من عينيك"، "سمفونية أبداً... لم يحبك"، "سمفونية أبداً... ما نسيتك"... وعناوين أخرى.
