قبل أن نستعرض معا التفاصيل الحافلة لحرب اليمن، أحب عزيزي القاريء أن نتعرف على بضعة حقائق جوهرية حول تلك الحرب. وهي؛ هل تعلم أن مصر كانت تحارب داعمة للجمهوريين في اليمن، بينما كانت السعودية وبريطانيا تحاربان دعما للملكيين؟ وبالتالي هل تعلم أن مصر انتصرت بدليل بسيط؛ اليمن مازالت جمهورية من وقتها وحتى اليوم؟! هل تعلم أن بريطانيا المسيطرة على مضيق باب المندب قبل الحرب بوجود محمية عدن، كان بوسعها أن تحول قناة السويس إلى ترعة راكدة، وتحويل البحر الأحمر لبحيرة داخلية بإغلاق المضيق؟ هل تعلم أن السعودية وهابية المذهب، والتي تقول اليوم أن عداءها مع إيران مذهبي، كانت تحارب في اليمن دفاعا عن نظام الإمامة، وبيت الأئمة من الشيعة الزيدية؟ هل تعلم أن العقيد أركان حرب شهيد إبراهيم الرفاعي، ومعظم أبطال الصاعقة المصرية الذين كانوا زبدة مقاتلينا في حرب الاستنزاف، قد اكتسبوا تلك الخبرة في عمليات الصاعقة وحرب العصابات من خوضهم حرب اليمن؟ تلك بعض الحقائق التي لا تحتمل جدالا ولا مجال فيها للرأي، يمكننا الاتفاق عليها، قبل أن نستعرض بقية الحقائق، ويكون لدينا فيها كامل الوقت للاختلاف والاتفاق.
