كتابٌ في تصريف الأفعال وُضع على نمطٍ يحمل الطالب على تفهُّم مسائل العلم، ويعينه على جودة التحصيل وحُسن التطبيق، محافَظاً فيه على الطابع الأزهري الأصيل، مراعىً في تأليفه النمط العصريّ. بدأ هذا الكتاب بمقدمة في علم الصرف؛ تحدّث المؤلف فيها عن أطواره، وأشهر مصنفاته، مع تعريفه وأقسامه وموضوعه، وتطرقت إلى عدد من أمهات مباحثه كالميزان الصرفي، والقلب والزيادة، والإلحاق والاشتقاق. ثم شرع المؤلف في الكلام عن الأفعال فبداً بالمجرد والمزيد وأقسامهما، ومعاني صيغ الزيادة، وأصناف الملحق من الأفعال وأوزانها، ثم تطرق إلى الجامد والمشتق وأقسامهما، وتكلم عن تصرُّف الأفعال بعضها من بعض، وعن أبواب مضارع الثلاثي المجرد، ثم اتجه إلى الكلام عن الصحيح والمعتل من الأفعال، وأقسام هذا المعتل وأحوال اتصال أقسامه بالضمائر، ثم عن قضايا إلى تقسيم الأفعال إلى مؤكَّد وغير مؤكّد، واختتم بتقسيم الأفعال إلى مبنية للمعلوم ومبنية للمجهول وكيفية بناء الأفعال لِما لا يُسمّى فاعله.
