هذا الكتاب ( الأمالي ) لأبي علي أحمد بن محمد بن الحسن المرزوقي، أحد كبار علماء العربية، وخير من شرح الحماسة، وصاحب الأزمنة والأمكنة، وغيرها من المصنفات النفيسة. وهذا الكتاب هو إحياء لأثر نفيس، وهو ثروة أدبية ولغوية ونحوية كبيرة، بالإضافة إلى ما حواه من الاختيارات التي هي من عيون الشعر العربي، وتغني عن تصفح دواوين كثيرة، ويبدأ الكتاب بتوضيح معنى الأمالي ومن ألف فيها، ثم يتناول العديد من الأبواب مثل باب المعتل والفاء المضمومة، وباب المعتل العين، وباب التضعف، وباب الهمزة، وكذلك يعرج على الكثير من المسائل مثل مسألة: يقال: زال الشيء يزول، ومسألة: الإمَرّ الضعيف الرأي ويزداد فيه الهاء، ومسألة: عذيري من فلان ومن يعذرني من فلان، ومسألة من التنزيل في قوله تعالى " أصحاب الجنة يومئذ خير مستقرًا وأحسن مقيلًا"، كما يحوي العديد من القصائد ثل قصيدة مجنون ليلى، وقصيدة جميل بثينة، وقصيدة حاتم الطائي، وغيرهم، فالكتاب مادة لغوية ثرية جدًا.
