هذا كتاب (الأزمنة والأمكنة) وبيان ما يختلف من أحوالها ويتفق من أسمائها وصفاتها وأطرافها وأقطارها ومتعلقات الكواكب منها في صعودها وهبوطها وطلوعها وغروبها.
وهذا الكتاب من الكتب النادرة والثمينة في حقل الأنوار –علم الفلك- لمؤلفه "أبو علي أحمد بن محمد بن الحسن، من أهل أصبهان –توفي سنة 421هـ. تتلمذ على يد أبي علي الفارسي المتوفي سنة 337هـ، وفرغ من تأليف هذا الكتاب في سنة 453هـ". وعمل على تحقيق الكتاب الذي بين أيدينا بجزئيه الأول والثاني الدكتور "محمد نايف الدليمي" وجعله في ثلاثة وستون باباً ونيف وتسعون فصلاً.. وتبحث في ذكر الآي المنهية من القرآن على نعم الله على خلقه في آناء الليل والنهار، في ذكر أسماء الزمان والمكان، في بيان الليل والنهار وعلى فصول من الإعراب تتعلق بظروف الأزمة والأمكنة، في قسمة الأزمنة ودورانها، في ذكر الأنوار واختلاف العرب فيها، ومنازل القمر، في تحديد سني العرب والفرس والروم، وأوقات فصول السنة، في تقدير أوقات التهجد التي ذكرها الله تعالى في كتابه، عن نبيه والصحابة، في ذكر البوارح والأمطار وفي ذكر المراقبة، في ذكر الأعياد والأشهر الحرم، في ذكر سحر وغدوة وبكرة وما أشبهها، في لفظة أمس وغد، والحول والسنة والعام، في أسماء الأيام، والشهور على اختلاف اللقات (...) في ذكر مشاهير الكوامب التي تسمى الثابتة.
هذا، وقد اعتمد المحقق في دراسته هذه على أمهات الكتب القيَمة والنادرة مثل: "الأزمنة وتلبية الجاهلية"، "اساس البلاغة: للزمخشري"، "اصلاح المنطق: لابن السكيت وغيرها ما يتجاوز المائة مصدر ونيف وهذا إن دل على شيء فإنما يدل على الأمانة العلمية والجهد الدؤوب والمنهج السليم الذي يضفي على العمل الصدقية حتى خرج النص لنا بصورته المرادة له، فكان جديراً بأن يقتنى وتوفد به مكتبتنا الإسلامية...
