رواية تتحدث عن الاشهر الأولى من الاحتلال الاسرائيلي للضفة الغربية من فلسطين ، حيث يقتل ضابط الشرطة المستبد في فترةالحكم الاردني بظروف غامضة فياتي الحاكم العسكري الإسرائيلي لبحقق بالحادث لكنه جاء يستعرض هيمنته الأولى على الناس ويكتشف انا على ابن الضابط المقتول في تنظيم يتكون على يد الحزبي الأيديولوجي هنا تظهر الشخصيات التي تريد التعامل مع السلطةالإسرائيلية على غرار تعاملها مع السلطة الأردنية، المختار اراد ان ينافق الاسرائيليين ويمشي في ركابهم والسياسي المتنفذ اراد مهادنتهم، والسياسيالأيديولوجي الحزبي يريد المقاومة التقليدية يموت تحت التعذيب ، وأحمد اليعقوب المناضل القيادي عام 48 المنكسر الثمل باستمرار بفيق من ادمانه ويكره الخمر ويكتشف شمعون ان احمد اليعقوب هو قاتل ابيه عام 48 واخيرا يُقتل امختار في انفجار بمكتب شمعون ويقتل السياسي على يد عاهرة والحزبي يقتل في سجن اسرائيلي كما يقتل مقاوم ساذج، ويبقى المناضل الغر علي ابن ضابط الشرطة المقتول وحنان ابنه احمد اليعقوب اشارة ان مقتل كل الذين انهزموا في حزيران عام67 وامراهنة على الجيل الصاعد الذي لم يتكون بعد، فمن انهزم لا يقوى على الانتصارفالانتصاريكون في الاجيال القادمة
