تعتبر ديانة السيخ نموذجاً للديانات التوفيقية التي تقوم على الإنتقاء والتأليف بين العناصر الروحية المستمدة من مصادر مختلفة، ويعود تأسيس هذه الديانة إلى المفكر الهندي نانك.
ومثلما كانت المانوية قد وفقت بين عناصر من المسيحية وأخرى من الزرداشتيه فإن مؤسس السيخ نانك وفق بين عناصر مستمدة من الإسلام وأخرى مستمدة من الهندوسية، وتبدو العناصر الإسلامية واضحة في قيام ديانة السيخ على فكرة التوحيد، والإعتراف بإله واحد أحد، وإن كان إسم هذا الإله غير محدد، فهو تارة رام، وتارة براهما، وتارة هاري، وهذه الأسماء وأمثالها تعود إلى مصادر هندوسية، أما العناصر الدينية الهندوسية في ديانة السيخ، فتتمثل في كرة التحرر أو الخلاص، حيث يتم الخلاص عن طريق ما يسمى البهاكتي، ويمثل البهاكتي في المصادر الهندوسية، طريق المحبة والورع والإيمان وهذه الفكرة موجودة في التراث الهندوسي القديم، وقد وجدت أفضل تعبير عنها في كتاب البهاكا فادجيتا المقدس.
ونظراً لقلة المعلومات المتعلقة بهذه الطائفة الدينية قمنا بإعداد هذه الدراسة التي كتبناها عن قرب في الديار الهندية وأضفنا لها من مقالات بعض الكتاب ما أغناها لتأخذ مكانها في دراسات الأديان باللغة العربية.
