ألا يلين قلبها من أجل والدها؟… كم من مرة حاولتُ رؤيتها في بيت جدها، كم من مرة حاولت الإتصال بها ولكن جدها علّمها الحقد وملأ رأسها بالأكاذيب… ولكنها غلطتي… كل ما يحدث بسبي وحدي… فعلتها بيديّ هاتين وها أنا ألقي اللوم على الجميع… أنا من عاقر الخمر… أنا ابن الكلب الذي خرّب بيته بيديه… أنا الحثالة والقمامة التي استلذّت الألم وانغمست في الحزن كل تلك السنوات… جدّها الحقير هو من زاد الطين بلة ونقل إليها حقده علي، وجعلها ترفض رؤيتي كل مرة… معه حق… له كل الحق… وهل يسمح لها برؤية حثالة مثلي؟…
كلب متشرّد يرقد في الشوارع ويلهث وراء شربة خمر… كل تلك السنوات الضائعة التي لم أرها فيها… كل يوم يمر سيكون ضدي ولن أستطيع تعويضها أبداً… هذا مستحيل… هذا مستحيل… لا يمكن أن تكون هي أبداً… أعرف ذلك… وأعرفه جيداً… تُرَى من تكون هذه الفتاة؟…
