انقشع الضباب من عينيه وتراءى له المشهد كاملاً مجسّماً، كان بطلا لنهايته التراجيدية، انطلقت رصاصتان من المسدّس، حاول الإبتعاد قبل الأوان ولكن ولات حين مناص، اخترقت الرّصاصتان صدره اختراقاً، وسقط على الأرض قابضاً على صدره المضرّج بالدّماء.
استمرّ رنين الهاتف من مكان ما على الأرض، وانطلقت السّيّارة مسرعة عبر الطّريق، ثمّ اختفت في لمح البصر، ظهرت بقعتان من الدّم على قميصه، وسرعان ما ازداد حجمهما، التقتا بالخاصّية الشّعريّة، لتشكّلا بقعة واحدة كبيرة.
ارتعش كامل جسده وكان صدره يعلو وينخفض بصعوبة، في تلك الثواني بدأ يفقد الإحساس بأطرافه شيئاً فشيئاً، وبعد لحظات انطفأت حرارة جسده المسجّى ولم يبقَ إلا أثرها، كفرن يصدر لفحات بعد إخماد ناره المتوقدة.
تجمّع الدّم حوله وشكّل بركة صغيرة حمراء ما زالت مزبدة، انتفضت روحه فلفظ آخر أنفاسه في تلك اللّحظة وودّع الحياة، استمرّ الهاتف في الرّنين...
