هذا الكتاب للمؤلف مصطفى الصاوي الجويني يهدف إلى تقديم الأصول البلاغية أي الأسس الرئيسية من علوم البلاغة الثلاثة: المعاني والبيان والبديع، مع استبعاد الجانب الفلسفي الجامد منها، وهذا ما وضعه المؤلف تحت عنوان التأصيل، ثم أتبع ذلك بتأملات وأفكار تعيد النظر في تلك الأصول وتحاول التجديد فيها تنقيبًا عن مواطن جديدة للجمال وهذا ما أدرجه تحت عنوان: مباحث التجديد. ويأتي الفصل الأول في علم المعاني أولًا التأصيل وثانيًا مباحث التجديد، ثم الفصل الثاني في علم البيان ويعرض أيضًا نفس الجانبين التأصيل والتجديد، والثالث في علم البديع، والرابع يعرض فيه بعض المسائل البلاغية.
