يتوجه هذا الكتاب في موضوع البلاغة العربية للطالب العربي ويهدف إلى إقدار الطالب الجامعي على فهم أسرار الإعجاز القرآني، وتذوق ألوان الإبداع فيما يقرأ من النصوص الأدبية.
روعي في هذا الكتاب ما يأتي:
- تحليل كثير من النصوص والشواهد، بقصد إدراك الجمال، وتربية الذوق.
- تخليصه من القواعد الجافة التي ينفر منها دارسو البلاغة، وتجنب الشروح المنطقية التي أبعدت البلاغة عن روائها الأول.
- وضع كثير من التمرينات التعليمية للمناقشة التي تفتح الأذهان، وتوسع آفاق الطلاب، وتعينهم على الاستنباط، وتحفزهم إلى التأمل في النصوص، باحثين عن سرّ المتعة التي يحدثها الأثر الأدبي الجميل.
- الابتعاد عن كثير من المصطلحات البلاغية التي تعج بها كتب البلاغة، التي لم يعد لدراستها ومعرفتها كبير فائدة.
كما أنّ فيه بعداً عن التفصيلات التي تربك الدارس، وتجعله يصرف جهده وراء أمور فرعية ومصطلحات ترهقه، لا تحقق له الفائدة المرجوّة.
أمّا مادّة الكتاب وفصوله فقد جاءت موزعة كما يأتي:الفصل الأول : شيء من تاريخ البلاغة، الفصل الثاني: علم البيان، الفصل الثالث: علم المعاني، الفصل الرابع: علم البديع، وأخيراً: الملاحق وتتضمن تمرينات محلولة، وأخرى غير محلولة، اقتبس بعضها من عدد من كتب البلاغة أهمها: سلسلة البيان تعليم العربية (المستوى الجامعي) كتاب البلاغة من إعداد: د. جميل بني عطا، ود. حسام اللحام.
وأما مراجع الكتاب ومصادره فقد تنوعت بين القديم والحديث تجدها في جريدة المصادر والمراجع في نهاية الكتاب.
