إثارة نفسية وجريمة تدور احداثها في لشبونة الساحرة والغامضة خلال مهرجان القديس أنطونيو عام 2009. تتبع قصة ليام، القاتل المأجور الإيرلندي الذي يحمل ذنب مقتل طفل بريء في دبلن، ورفيقه كولم، الاسكتلندي الصلب، وهما هاربان من زعيمهما الخائن فرانسيس. في فندق "دار البحر" القديم، يلتقيان بماريا صاحبة الفندق وإيزابيل النادلة الفنانة، وسط أنغام الفادو الحزينة ورائحة السردين المشوي وهمسات نهر تاجوس. تنكشف الأسرار تدريجياً عن خيانة و فساده، وأساطير النهر الذي يعكس الذنوب والحقائق. القصة تمزج التشويق بالتأمل و الندم، الخلاص، والحرية، وسط متاهة أزقة ألفاما وأضواء المهرجان، حيث يصبح النهر شاهداً صامتاً على صراع الإنسان مع ماضيه.
