محمد سعيد القشاط (ولد عام 1942)في بلدة الجوش) حصل على إجازة التدريس العامة من معهد المعلمين بطرابلس 1959, وعلى دبلوم الصحافة العالي من جامعة القاهرة 1963, وعلى الدكتوراة من جامعة المجر 1986. عمل بالتدريس من عام 1959إلى 1969, ثم بالصحافة حتى عام 1976, وتولى فيها مناصب كان آخرها إدارة المؤسسة العامة للصحافة، كما عمل مديراً لمركز شؤون الصحراء، ثم سفيراً لبلاده في الرياض.

Book Description
يطلق كلمة الشط الليبي على الساحل المحاذي للبحر الأبيض المتوسط . من مصراته إلى زواره حيث ينمو النخيل . ويقضي عرب سهل لجفارة والجبل الغربي. وترهوته . وبني وليد فصل الخريف في هذه المناطق . ليشتروا التمر وهو لا يزال في رؤوس النخل . ويسمونه (تخريص) أي يقدرون كميته . ويدفعون ثمنها لأهل النخل . ويتولى الشخص الذي يصعد النخل . الصعود لهذا النخل عدة مرات في الموسم . وفي كل مرة يقولون (يهز العرجون) ليتساقط التمر الناضج . أما الذي لم يحن نضوجه فيبقى للمرة القادمة ويتجمع أهل البلح تحت النخيل يجمعون ما تساقط حيث يرجعون به إلى مقارهم ويكومونه . وتقضي النساء الليل كله وهن يقسمن الثمرة إلى نصفين بالسكاكين . ويفصلون النواة خارجًا . والتمرة في مكان آخر . حيث يفرشون له حصر ليجففوا التمر أمام الشمس . لعدة أيام . ثم يخزنونه والنوى يعطونه علفًا للحيوانات .
