منذ القرن التاسع عشر ونحن مستمعون إلى تلك النداءات المكررة المنسوخة من بعضها والتى يمكن تلخيصها فى شكل واحد وإن أتت مختلفة الشكال وهو "دهوة الإبتعاد عن العربية وهجرها" .. فقد تكون حيناً دعوة إلى العامية وآخر دهوة للكتابة بالحروف اللاتينية وثالثاً إختراع "نحو" أبسط وايسر حتى ولو كان ذو أسس مغلوطة - وغيرها من الدعوات التى شبعت رداً وصداً تكف عن الإدعاءات التى لا أساس لها. وفى هذا الكتيب يقوم الدكتور (عبد الرحمن رأفت الباشا) رحمه الله عليه بالرد على تلك النقاط بمنتهى البساطة والتركيز والحزم.. مبيناً فشلها الذريع قبل حتى تنفيذها هذا إلى جانب تذكيره إيانا بحق أبنائنا فى عدم وضع غشاوة على أعينهم، وفى تبصيرهم بما حولهم وتزويدهم بالعلم والدين الصحيح درعاً لهم.
أَلْقىَ الأضواء علىَ الحرب التي شنھا الأعداء علىَ لُغة القرآن؛ تارةً في السِّرِّ وأُخرىَ في العَلَ ن.. وناقش الحُجَجَ التي أطلقھا الخصوم تحت ستار التّجديد والإصلاح.. وكشف المقاصد التي تَكْمُن وراء ھَذه الحرب. وَبَيَّنَ تَفَرُّد ھَذه اللُّغة وَتَمَيُّزھا عن غيرھا من لُغات الأرض، وقدرتھا علىَ الوفاء بمتطلبات الحياة، والنّھوض بأعباء الحضارة. وقد نبّه المؤلف - رحمه للهّ - إلىَ أنَّ لُغتنا العربيّة ليست ملكًا لشعبٍ بِعَينه.. وإنّما ھي تراث العرب والمسلمين جميعًا علىَ اختلاف ديارھم وأقطارھم. كما وضّح الدّكتور الباشا - رحمه للهّ - حقّ أبنائنا علينا في الذّود عن لُغتھم، وصيانة فُصحاھا من أن تمتدَّ إليھا يَدٌ بالتّحريف والتّبديل.. وأن نجاھد من أجلھم كما جاھد آباؤنا من أجلنا.. لأنّ العدوان علىَ ھَذه اللُّغة إنّما ھو عدوان علىَ الإسلام.
