هو لها الحياة، كل الحياة، بلغت معه كل المقامات، منذ رؤيته مغمض العينين، غير مدركٍ لميلادها بعد، سبحت عيناها في ملامحه، شعره الثائر حوله، قسمات وجهه، يديه القويتين، جسده الفارع المتناسق، قدميه الكبيرتين. ربما اكتشفت المعنى الأول للحياة في تأملها لهذا الجسد الراقد بجوارها، لمست تلك الندبة التي ما زالت تنزف برقة بجوار قلبه، متسائلة عن ماهيتها، لمحت القطرات ذاتها على يدها، على ذراعها. عبرت نظراتها إلى جسدها المرمري، متأملة إياه باندهاش، تقارن بينه وبين جسده الضخم، تلفتت حولها بالدهشة ذاتها، أيقظته حركاتها السريعة، وبينما خصلات شعرها تخفي وجهها، راح يزيحها شيئًا فشيئًا ليكتشف بدوره هذا المخلوق الجديد، متى ومن أين أتى!!
