تحدث صديقي المفكر في إيمان واقتناع، عن حرية التعبير والإبداع، فقال لي بعد أن تناول بالاستمتاع، قدحاً من الشاي المخلوط بالنعاع: إن المسألة واضحة وضوح الشمس، ولا تحتاج إلى صراخ أو همس، فهي معروفة اليوم كما كانت بالأمس، لأن حرية الكلمة منذ البدء وحتى الآن، لا يستطيع أن ينكرها أي إنسان، ولا حتى عفاريت الجان، والدليل على ذلك لا يحتاج إلى بيان.. فالكلمة الأصلية لا تذبل ولا تموت، ولا يمكن ضربها بالنبوت، أو إنتزاعها من العقول والبيوت.. لأنها تكتسب روعتها وحصانتها، من صميم صدقها وأصالتها، مهما تكن جسارتها وغرابتها، أما الكلمات الفاسدة الحافلة باللغو والإسفاف، فإنها بغير شك في غاية الاختلاف، فهي تموت بطبيعتها، فور ولادتها، لأنها تغرق في تفاهتها، وتختنق بسفاهتها، هذا أمر معروف، تؤكده كل الظروف، ويمكن أن يفهمه كل حمار أو خروف، فالحق واضح، والباطل فاضح، وفي استطاعتك أن تقول ما شئت، دون أن تلطخ نفسك أو غيرك بالقطران والزفت.
