فالإنسان كائن يعيش ضمن محيط معين، وواقع مفروض، فهو إذن وليد لذاك المحيط وابن لذلك الواقع، وعندما يشعر بالانسجام والتكيُّف وأنَّه جزءٌ متأثر في ذلك الواقع ومؤثر فيه، فإنَّه يتآلف مع ذلك المجتمع ويغوص فيه غارقاً بواقع وردي جميل، لكن الاغتراب يفرض نفسه بأنواعه، مطوقاً نفس الإنسان حين يبدو الواقع مثيراً لتساؤلات تطرق أبواب النفس الإنسانية، مُستغربةً تلك الآليات التي تتحكم فيه وتفرض عليه قيود الحزن والألم، فتبدأ رحلة الضياع حين يسير الإنسان محاولاً تغيير ذلك الواقع على وفق أحلامه وطموحاته، حين يدرك انفصاله عن مجتمعه، فيبدو في نظر من حوله غير سوي، وهنا تبدأ الرحلة داخل النفس، إذ ينتابها الشعور بالاغتراب حين تتولد بداخلها ثورة تدفعها إلى الرفض والتمرد.
