الخط العربي أحد أهم أشكال الحضارة التي امتدت وتنقلت عبر العصور حتى وصلت للشكل الذي هي عليه الآن، وهو يعكس الإيمان بالفن وملامح الثقافة العربية؛ إذ هو منجز للحضارة ورقي العقل، ومحدد لشخصية الفرد والأمة، معبرًا عن الثقافة والجمال البصري الذي يجعل من الخط العربي منظومة لا تنفصل عن الكلام. وتعد الحاجة للتدوين وحفظ العلوم، ونقلها سببا رئيسيًا لتعلم الخط، إلا أننا أصبحنا نرى تراجعا في الاهتمام به حتى غدت الكتابة العربية أشكال وخطوط تضيع هويتها، جهلًا بأهمية جودة الكتابة، وضرورة تنظيمها، فأصبحت الكتابة تطل علينا بطلاسم لا يفهم معناها لصعوبة فك الأحرف عند قراءة أي نص مكتوب باليد. وبعد أن كان الخط مادة تحتل مكانها بين الحصص الأسبوعية لطلاب التعليم العام، تلاشى هذا المكان ولم يعد له أثر. مما تسبب في كارثة كبرى لدى الطلاب أدت لتردي خطوطهم، وعدم وضوح كتاباتهم. ولأني أعمل في مجال التعليم العالي، وبالتحديد في تدريس اللغة العربية، فإني أتعرض لمعاناة كبرى عند تصحيح التكاليف والواجبات، وأوراق الاختبارات لما أجده من خطوط تحور شكل الحرف العربي إلى حرف إنجليزي، أو شكل هندسي، أو بقلب الحرف إلى حرف عربي آخر. مما يستعصي علي فهم الإجابات التي أقوم بتصحيحها، مستهلكة وقتًا أطول في محاولة فك رموزها. لذا سعيت في هذه الورقة البحثية محاولة الوقوف على الأسباب والحث عن حلول لها، من أجل نشر ثقافة وتأصيل حضارة
