صدر هذا الكتاب للمرة الأولى في مطلع عام 1913، يومها احتفلت به الصحافة المصرية، والكاتب لم يترك في كتابه حركة أو خصلة إلا أثبتها، مبينا جوانب الحسن فيها ، وداعيا إلى فعلها والاتصاف بها، أو ذاكرا لجوانب القبح داعيا إلى تجنبها والانصراف عنها، ويبدأ بآداب حركات الجسم متوقفا عند كل حركة من حركات أعضاء الجسم الظاهرة، ثم يتحدث إجمالا عن آداب النظافة قبل أن ينتقل إلى الثياب والحلي وكل ما يلبس الإنسان ويعرض لآداب التهادي حينما تهدي أو يهدى إليك ، وآداب الزيارة وعيادة المريض ، وآداب المناقشة والمناظرة والمراسلة، حتى الآداب الواجب اتياعها في المتنزهات والملاهي، لم يفت الكاتب أن يضمها إلى كتابه الذي يعد مرشدا ودليلا للسلوك القويم.
