صدرت مذكرات أكرم الحوراني منذ ثلاثة سنوات في 3600 صفحة فكانت محاولة موسوعية لتوثيق تاريخ سورية وعقود المد القومي العربي، إلا أن مذكرات نزيهة الحمصي حرم أكرم الحوراني التي بين يدينا كانت أقرب إلى توثيق الجانب الوجداني لمسيرة الاشتراكيين العرب والبعث، والذي هو دائماً الخلفية الخفية لكل الصراعات الإيديولوجية والاجتماعية عبر التاريخ.
هذا وتمتد يوميات السيدة نزيهة إلى ما بعد 1963 وهذه اليوميات مليئة بالمرارة والحنين إلى الوطن بعد نفي قسري دام 19 عاماً (1978-1997) لتعود إلى سوريا بعد وفاة أكرم الحوراني. مسيرة مر قضتها السيدة نزيهة برفقة هذا الزعيم، ورجل الدولة رافقته في سوريا بينما الأمة العربية تعيش أيامها الغر وترمي قفاز التحدي في وجه الأحلاف الاستعمارية، وتكون الوحدة السورية المصرية تتويجاً لطموح الأمة، ولكن النتائج كانت بخلاف الطموح والتيار الهادر للجماهير الواثقة المتحررة، تحول إلى حالة من اليأس أو الإحباط. فما الذي حدث؟ هذا ما ترويه هذه المذكرات الشخصية والتاريخية والتي تحاول أن تلقي الضوء على تاريخ سوريا الحديث لفهم ما آلت إليه أوضاع الأمة العربية حالياً.
