يعد كتاب الفكر الإسرائيلي وحدود الدولة من بين البحوث القليلة التي عالجت بعمق وأصالة الإطار الديني والتاريخي لمفهوم الحدود السياسية لدى إسرائيل والمنطلقات الصهيونية إزاءها، ووجهة نظرها القائمة على التوسع، وعلى حركية الحدود السياسية وارتباطاتها بالاستيطان، والاستحواذ على مزيد من الرقعة المساحية. كما عالج هذا العمل العلمي-في تتابع تاريخي-توجهات إسرائيل منذ قيامها في 1948 وحتى علم 1973، وذلك في إطار من التحليل الموضوعي للارتباط بين الحدود والأمن الإسرائيلي، ولا غربة إذن ألا يعلن قادة إسرائيل عن حدود دولتهم، ويردون القول بازدواجية حدود الدولة، فحدودها الآمنة ليست حدودها التي وضحت بمقتضى قرار الأمم المتحدة الخاص بالتقسيم رقم 181 الصادر في 29 نوفمبر 1947، بل تقوم على مفاهيم متعددة وعلى آراء واجتهادات لقادتها السياسيين والعسكريين. وإن دلت كلها على شيء فهي تدل على غلبة الفكر الصهيوني التوسعي، والرغبة الجامحة في استيعاب مزيد من الأرض على حساب الدول العربية المجاورة.
