اليوم، وبعد أن مر اليمن بالإضطرابات التي هددت وحدة الدولة والشعب. وبع أن امتدت بالحرب إلى جارتها السعودية، يصبح القلق مشروعاً على مصير هذا البلد العربي الذي أعادت الثورة على حكم في 26 سبتمبر 1962، استيلاده كدولة. ثم تعززت هذه الدولة بالوحدة بين شماله وجنوبه وبعد تجربة حزينة وفاشلة، كلفت اليمنيين بحراً من دمائهم وخسارة فادحة من الزمن الذي يحتاجونه إلى العصر..
إن الدولة التي بنتها ثورتان: في شمالها ضد حكم الجاهلية، وفي جنوبها ضد الإحتلال البريطاني، تبدو مهددة بالتفكيك والتبعثر دويلات أو جهات وأصوليات أخرى، أو مشيخات قبلية أو محميات تتقاسمها قوى أجنبية مع "القاعدة"، مع كل ما ينجم عن هذا التفكك على محيط اليمن وبالتحديد على السعودية التي تشدها الفوضى المسلحة إلى التورط في حرب مفتوحة ضد قبائل وعشائرلم تعرف يوماً الحدود لتعترف بها لأنها كانت عبر التاريخ تتجاوزها بالإمتداد السابق على قيام الدولة..وأهمية هذا الموضوع ، اعتنى الكاتب بدراسة هذا الموضوع وإلقاء الضوء على مجرياته وأبعاده السياسية والإجتماعية.
