التقدم في العمر خسران محبات، وصداقات، وزمالات ، وأفكار، وأحلام، ومشاريع، وسذاجات، وأوهام، واكتساب لخبرة لا تفيد ومعرفة لا تؤدي إلى أي نفع.
بعد الثلاثين من العمر تتعاقب الأشياء في ضرب سالب من "عود أبدي". يروق لي أن أفكر أحياناً أنه لو تم عكس اللقطة الطويلة التي استهل بها أندريه تاركوفسكي فيلمه الوداعي الخالد "القربان" (سبع دقائق كاملة)، والتي يدور فيها حوار مشاء (حرفياً وبالمعنى الفلسفي للكلمة) بين أستاذ فلسفة ومسرح وعلم وجمال متقاعد (أليكساندر) وساعي بريد (أوتو) حول نيتشه في يوم كان يفترض أنه اليوم الأخير في حياة العالم، وهي لقطة تتبع معقدة (complex tracking shot) تجتهد فيها الكاميرا لتقديم تأويل بصري حول المقولة النيتشوية تلك. يروق لي أن أرى تلك اللقطة من نهايتها حتى بدايتها، مجدداً ومن جديد.
بعد الثلاثين لا شيء يحدث للمرة الأولى. وإن حصل فهو لا يحدث إلا ليذكرك عامداً بفقد ما، أو ليغرز متعمداً في خافقك المهيض جناحاً مستحيلاً.
التجربة، بالمعنى الوجودي للكلمة، لا تزال مفتوحة -مفتوحة على كل شيء، حتى اللحظة التي تغمض فيهما العينان للمرة الأخيرة (والعينان هما أول ما تبدأ الديدان أكله في الجثة بعد الدفن لأسباب بيولوجية هي أوضح من أن تذكر، واعتبارات ميتافيزيقية هي أكثر صعوبة من أن أعرفها). لكن الأشياء انغلقت، أو أغلقت. ثمة عطب كبير أصاب جهاز استقبال العالم في الروح، أو أن ذلك العطب الرهيب أصاب العالم نفسه الذي ما انفك ينأى، وينأى، عن الروح.
مبكراً بعض الشيء: "أنا ما تعبت، ولكن الشمس غربت" (نيكوس كازانتزاكيس).
