"حرب وجود لا حرب حدود" كتاب بحاجة إلى وقفة تدقيق في عدة معالم يؤكدها، فهو: كتاب يعالج مرحلة لها عنوان ممتد منذ 1967، مرحلة الثقافي مع مشاريع التسوية بعد نكبة 1967. الجزء الأول منه من هزيمة حزيران 1967 إلى تلاشي جنيف في 1977. هذا الجزء يشمل موافقة المؤلف على مدى عشر سنوات لمختلف جوانب الصراع المصيري مع العدو وتطورات المسألة الفلسطينية من هزيمة حزيران 1967 إلى تلاشي جنيف في ورقة العمل الأميركية-الإسرائيلية في 1977. ويعتبر هذا الجزء محاكمة لمسيرة التسوية ونتائج الهزيمة 1967 حتى 1977 حين تلاشي سراب جنيف. بينما الجزء الثاني يعالج مرحلة ما بعد زيارة السادات إلى القدس ونهج كامب ديفيد. وبينما يشكل الجزء الأول مجموعة دراسات نشرت على مدى عشر سوات 1967-1977 فإن الجزء الثاني ينشر لأول مرة وقد كتب خصيصاً لهذا الكتاب.
