تتكشف العلاقات التي ترصدها "رباب حسين النمر" في نصوصها السردية " هزيمة ألم" عن منظومة قيمية تنتمي إلى عالم المُثُل مثلما تنمي إلى عالم الواقع، فتشكل النصوص مرآة للواقع الحي، يأتي الفن ليعدل في في طريقة عكسها له؛ فلا يعود الواقع مجرد صور فوتوغرافية في النص، بل يغدو ذو أبعاد أخلاقية وإنسانية تقوم الكاتبة بتشكيلها مبرزة الجانب المنسي في علاقاتنا الإنسانية، بل تحفزنا للتفاعل مع النص على اساس من التقاط هذه الأبعاد الإنسانية وتلمسها بشكل أكبر.
في القصة الأولى "هزيمة ألم" عمدت الكاتبة إلى مكاشفة المرء في أدق تفاصيله، ولا سيما حين يكون أمام المرض وسطوة الألم، لتومىء للقارىء من خلالها كم يكون الإنسان بحاجة إلى الرحمة والعناية الإلهية، التي ينساها في حالة الصحة.
أما في القصة الثانية "الرمانة" فكان المشهد أكثر حميمية وأقل ألماً حينما قدمت الكاتبة صورة أسرية تعكس العلاقات بين الأم وطفلها، الذي ظل يرجوها ثلاثة ايام أن تقشر له (رمانة) ولا تجد وقتاً لذلك "أووووف يا ماما .. متى تقشرين رمانتي وتفتتيها في هذا الطبق .. لقد تعبت وأنا ألاحقك ..." لنجد صوت الكاتبة على لسان الأم في ختام القصة تقول: "هل ضاق الزمن بنا عن لحظات حنونة نهبها لأطفالنا نقاسمهم فيها فاكهتهم المفضلة فنقشر برتقالة أو نفتت رمانة؟ أم هي المشاغل استهلكتنا حتى لم نعد صالحين لإطعام أولادنا وجبة حنان؟ ". وهكذا تتوالى القصص في هذه المجموعة لتقدم مشاهد من حياة البعض وأنماطاً من العلاقات التي تنتظمهم، ناسين بعضهم البعض حتى داخل جدران المنزل أو المستشفى أو العمل، لتشكل بمجموعها حالة الفقد واللامبالاة التي أصبحت جزءاً من حياة الإنسان اليوم.
