(مذكرات في العرفان والتصوف) يضم الحلقة الثانية والثالثة من سلسلة حلقات سميت بـ (هكذا بحثت) وهي مذكرات كتبها محمد علي باقري يشير فيها إلى ما واجهه من مشاكل في بحثه عن الدين عن طريق المنطق وعلم الكلام.
فهل يشارك الدين العرفان في موضع الكلم والمسائل؟ ذلك هو السؤال الذي يراه الكاتب أساساً في الحكم على توافق الدين والتصوف أو تخالفهما؛ من هنا جاء الكتاب ليبحث عبر(قصة افتراضية) وضعها الكاتب بصيغة الحوار عن علاقة العرفان بالتصوف كما يراها هو "محاولة تنظيم تبريري للصورة الموجودة في عقله عن العرفان" وبكلام آخر ما يتصوره من عقبات في طريق سلوك العرفان كمنهج مترابط ذي هدف محدد معروف لا كمجموعة من مسائل متفرقة وهو نفسه المنهج الذي يمكَن المؤمن من الوصول إلى العرفان على خطى أهل البيت والأئمة عليهم السلام.
يبقى أن نشير أن الكتاب الأول جاء تحت عنوان (محاولات)، والكتاب الثاني جاء تحت عنوان (تساؤلات) والكتابان يكملان بعضهما بعضاً من حيث الطرح والمضمون.
ومهما يكن من أمر، لا يختلف المسلمون على أن العرفان يبقى منهجاً صالحاً لتزكية النفس والحصول على خصال خلقية سامية من الزهد والتوكل والرضا... وهو ما أراد قوله محمد علي باقري في مذكراته هذه.
