"وقد تتبع العلماء الشعوذة والسحر، وعنوا بالتوقّف على حِيَل المموِّهين، ليعرفوا الفرق ما بين المُعْجِزة والحِيلة" و"أنا هِرْمس المثلث بالحِكْمة عملتُ هذه الآية جهاراً، وحجبتُها بحكمتي لألّا يصل إليها إلّا حكيم مثلي" وعلى هذا الكتاب " أن يُغيّر آذاننا إلى أعين، أن يجعلنا نمرّ من الوحي المتعلِّم إلى الحدس المباشر" ، أن نمر من العلم إلى العمل. وأقول أيضاً كما قال هيراقليطس: "كمْ من الناس على وجه الأرض، يتنكرون للحقيقة والعدالة، وينعمون في جهلهم واتكائهم على جشعهم وغرورهم. أمّا أنا فقد قَذفتُ من رأسي الرداءات كلّها، وأتفادى كل شبع، لأن الحسد هو الرفيق الأزلي لهذا الأخير، وأنفر من كل عَجْرفة وكِبْر(خَنْزوانة)، لذلك فإنّي سأكتفي بالقليل الذي يُرضي روحي". وأخيراً: "كلُّ شرف خارجيّة في أوّله، وكل قديم حديث في عصره". وخارجيّة (تعني) من يسود بنفسه من غير أن يكون له قِدم.
ونحن إذ ندرس التراث الديني دراسة تحقيق ونقد فإننا نؤسس لنظرية في التحوّل القومي العربي الديمقراطي لأن نظريات التحوّل القائمة عندنا نحن العرب، كما يقول الدكتور عزمي بشارة "ليست نظريات علمية فعلاً، إذا تحولت إلى بديل من طرح مشاريع سياسية للتحول تصبح في الواقع معيقاً خطيراً يستبدل الفعل السياسي بالنظرية بدل أن يستنير بها "
